Freelance IT engineer · Singapore

I make computers safer, steadier and easier to trust.

I'm Morgan Ng, a freelance IT engineer in Singapore. I troubleshoot Windows and Linux, harden systems, and test ideas in isolated environments. I help SMEs, startups and IT teams who need their systems locked down and working properly.

What I can do for you

Five skills. Each one solves a specific kind of problem. Hover, tap or focus a card to see what you get.

01

Windows and Linux Troubleshooting

Something's broken and nobody knows why.

See what you get
What you get

I find the root cause, resolve it, and document the problem and solution steps for your reference in case it happens again. ChatGPT still struggles to troubleshoot certain errors.

02

PowerShell and Bash Scripting

The same boring task, done by hand, every week.

What you get

I study your workflow, identify areas to optimise, and automate the process. When things get busy, some processes are overlooked over time and the problems snowball. I can help you free up more time.

03

OS Hardening

Your systems work, but are they locked down?

See what you get
What you get

Upcoming audit? Have a new policy that requires a tighter security posture? I harden your machines according to your audit requirements.

04

Air-Gapped Systems

A network that must never touch the internet.

See what you get
What you get

Want to get things working in an air-gapped environment? I study your data workflow and work with you on the most suitable plan to make it work.

05

Proof-of-Concept (POC) Testing

“Will this actually work?” before you spend big.

See what you get
What you get

Deploying new software and want to know if it will work in your environment? I work to your goals and test every feature and potential error before you deploy to production or go back to your vendor.

A calm, clear process

You shouldn't need to be technical to work with me.

  1. 1

    Listen

You tell me what's wrong or what you need. I ask plain questions until I understand the goal.

  2. 2

    Check

I look at the current setup and tell you what I see, in everyday language.

  3. 3

    Fix or build

I make changes carefully, test them, and keep a way to undo them.

  4. 4

    Hand over

You get clear notes on what changed and why, so you're never dependent on me to understand your own systems.

I only take on work I'm confident I can do well. If something is outside my skills, I'll say so.

Questions people ask

What kind of clients do you work with?

I work with anyone who requires technical assistance.

Can you work remotely or on-site?

I only do on-site work in Singapore.

How much does it cost?

Every use case is unique. Send me a short description of the problem you are facing, and I'll reply with a clear scope and quote within 3 working days.

Can you make my systems 100% secure?

No one can, and I won't promise it. I can reduce your attack surface and align your setup with recognised standards.

Do you build websites, run marketing, or do sales?

No. That's deliberate. I stay in the work I'm good at: systems, scripting, security settings and testing.

Will you share details of past work?

I keep past work confidential. What I can do is explain how I'd approach your problem, and I'm happy to sign an NDA before looking at your environment.

What do I need to send you?

A few lines on the problem, the systems involved (Windows, Linux, or both), and your deadline if you have one.

Tell me what you're working on

A few lines is plenty. I'll read it personally and reply within 3 working days.
